just the 10 tips...

I agree with all ten of the points in this reading. However, I definitely think that some of them apply more heavily for us than others. I think that viewing our festival through the audience’s perspective is totally key. We need to understand what we are setting the audience up to expect and then deliver on that note. Going off this, the idea that we need to make sure that what we are presenting is going to be interesting is a huge need. If we don’t have speakers or films that aren’t going to deliver, we failed at our job.  We really need to set out to find our tone and voice then have everything be based around that. We really don’t want people to come to the festival and conference just to leave being filled with questions or comments like: “what was that about?”, “that’s not what I expected”, or worse “waste of time, definitely not doing that again”.  Another way that we can prevent this is by taking another point’s advice: make sure there’s a finale. Providing a finale or an ending to the festival is a huge aspect that we should focus on. This leaves the audience with a good taste in there mouth for what we’re really doing and what we really represent.
