Halloween
Party/Fundraiser
What is the project
supposed to achieve?
It’s going to raise funds, promote morale, and help us
become closer as a group. Also, it’s a way to start showcasing films, music,
and our beautiful personalities in order to draw more people to Visions film
festival and conference.
Are the results
straight-forward?
I think the results are straight-forward for the most part;
however, there’s a lot of extra rewards in this project. It’s a great way of
networking as well as helping out local industries (Black Sheep Tavern) and
promoting local talent (filmmakers and DJ).
Are deliverables
easily measured?
As far as money goes, yes. We’ll be able to see the results
by the end of the night. You can also see the contacts you’ve made. But there will
be things that aren’t going to be as easy to measure such as how everyone
reacted to the party and how far the publicity of the films that will be shown
will really go.
How much effort is
required?
This project needs quite a lot of effort. There’s the
initial setting up process, preparation, making sure we have the equipment, the
advertising side of this is HUGE, and then execution. We don’t want this to
look thrown together, sloppy, or amateur. Everything that we do should be a
direct example of how and what we want the actual festival and conference to be
represented.
How many people or
skills are needed?
There are quite a lot of skills needed to make this come
together. We’ve used my contacts and connections to make sure we have a venue,
but on top of that, we need a graphics person (Kyle) for awesome advertisement,
staff (Steven) to bounce and promote outside the bar, equipment person to run
the films, a DJ (Quinn), and everyone needs to be continually promoting and
pushing people to come and party.
How complex is the
project?
The project it self is really not complex. It’s a
party/fundraiser. We’ll have a great time. Even if some things go wrong, I have
enough faith in our staff to be able to fix things and move on. I think that
it’s going to be fine…aka…AWESOME.
